On Monday, March 9 Center Elementary School participated in NEA’s Read Across America Day. Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on the birthday of children’s author Dr. Seuss.
Children participated in many activities on this day including “Rock and Read” in the hallway with our very popular guest readers. This year we were proud to host Center School retirees, members of the Board of Education and State Senator Tony Guglielmo reading their favorite Dr. Seuss books in our classrooms.

Hall Memorial School held the annual Spelling Bee on 2/25/09. The winner was 7th grader Liam McLean.
Be sure to check our website (http://www.willingtonpublicschools.org/) for the Softball and Baseball game schedule for spring.
There will be a Teacher Variety Show on May 1st at 6:30 in the Hall Memorial Gymnasium. Be sure to check out the webpage for updates on this exciting event.
The budget process continues with a Town Budget meeting on April 7th at the Old Town Hall and finally on to the referendum on May 5th. All of the various boards and commissions in town have worked diligently to keep costs down. The Board of Education’s budget is a 0% increase over last year. I urge you to support the school budget with your vote on May 5th.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
